Terms and Conditions for Horsebox Hire

This rental contract is made between the Staffordshire Horseboxes ltd (SHB) / Horses on the move Ltd (HOTM) and you (the hirer)

1 DEFINITIONS

  • WITHIN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS THE FOLLOWING WORDS AND EXPRESSIONS SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MEANINGS
  • DAILY RATE- PER 24 HOUR PERIOD
  • HANDOVER CONDITION REPORT – MEANS THE JOINT REPORT UNDERTAKEN BY THE HIRER AND SHB/HOTM
  • HIRER – MEANS YOU, THE HIRER OF THE HORSEBOX, ALL REFERENCE TO YOU MEANS THE HIRER
  • HIRER PROFILE- MEANS YOUR DETAILS TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO DRIVING THE VEHICLE
  • INSURANCE -MEANS FULLY COMPREHENSIVE ROAD RISK SELF DRIVE HIRE INSURANCE POLICY FOR THE DURATION OF THE HIRE PERIOD
  • MOTOR RENTAL AGREEMENT – MEANS THE RENTAL AGREEMENT WHICH FORMS PART OF THESE TERMS
  • OWNER – MEANS THE LEGAL OWNER OF THE HORSEBOX
  • PICK UP – DATEMEANS THE DATE AND TIME AGREED PRIOR TO COLLECTION BETWEEN THE YOU AND SHB/HOTM
  • PICK UP LOCATION –ADDRESS AS PER WEBSITE
  • RENTAL CONTRACT – MEANS THE CONTRACT FOR THE RENTAL OF THE HORSEBOX IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND INCORPORATING THE RESEVATION DETAILS AND TERMS
  • DAMAGE EXCESS – MEANS UPTO £500 PAYABLE BY YOU FOR THE FIRST £500 OF ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO THE VEHICLE
  • RESERVATION DETAILS – MEANS THE HIRE PERIOD, THE DRIVER DETAILS AND WHICH FORM APRT OF THESE TERMS
  • RENTAL PAYMENT – MEANS THE PAYMENT DUE FROM THE HIRE FOR THE HIRE OF THE HORSEBOX IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RENTAL CONTRACT
  • RENTAL TERM – MEANS THE PERIOD COMMENCING ON THE PICK UP DATE AND ENDING ON THE DATE UPON THE HORSEBOX IS RETURNED TO THE RETURN POINT
  • DEPOSIT ����� A CARD DEPOSIT OF £250 IS TAKEN ON COLLCTION OF THE VEHICLE , ON THE SAFE RETURN OF THE VEHICLE PROVIDING NO DAMAGE HAS BEEN INCURRED THE SUM OF £250 IS FULLY REFUNDABLE
  • RETURN POINT – ADDRESS AS PER COLLECTION
  • TERMS – MEANS THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

2 YOUR CONTRACT WITH SHB/HOTM

2.1 Before booking you hire, please read these terms and conditions on line or ask for a hard copy to be sent out via post. These terms and conditions are legally binding and payment of the agreed rental constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions

2.2 £50 card deposit is taken on booking via telephone, this is non- refundable unless cancellation is made 7 days prior to the pick update

3 TERM
The rental of the horsebox is for the period from the pick-up date to the return date. If you fail to return the horsebox to the return point on the return date you are in breach of these terms and conditions and will be charged for every day or part day after the return date you fail to return the horsebox to the return point.

4 BOOKING AND DEPOSIT
4.1 To book a horsebox call 07815732734 /07973728686 authorise a card payment of £50 and agree the date, time for collection, duration of hire and return date with the SHB/HOTM

4.2 CONFIRM YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

5 YOUR RESPOSIBILITIES

5.1 On the collection day you must bring with you

  • BOTH COPIES OF YOUR DRIVING LICENSE
  • 2 CURRENT UTILITY BILLS
  • CREDIT OR DEDIT CARD TO PAY THE BALANCE FOR THE HIRE PERIOD , INSURANCE AND £250 DAMAGE EXCESS

5.2 On collection you will required to complete a handover condition report, please make sure when signing the document you have thoroughly checked the hire vehicle

5.3 You must look after the horsebox and keys to it. You must always keep the horsebox locked securely at all times when unattended, ensuring that you use any security devices fitted to the vehicle

5.4 you must protect the horsebox from any adverse weather conditions that may cause damage

5.5 You must ensure that you use the correct fuel for the horsebox

5.6 You must not grant anyone legal right over the horsebox

5.7 You must not sell, rent or dispose of the horsebox or  any parts, fixtures, fittings or items added by the owner or otherwise.

5.8 You must not let anyone work on the horsebox without SHB/HOTM permission. If the owner does grant permission to proceed  with  work  , you will only receive a refund if you have a valid VAT invoice for the works and the works have been carried have been authorised by the owner.

5.9 You must let SHB/HOTM know immediately as soon as you become aware of any fault with the vehicle

5.10 You must return the horsebox to the return point on the return date. Until the horsebox is safely returned to the owner you will remain responsible for the horsebox. SHB/HOTM WILL INSPECT THE HORSEBOX before it is handed back to ascertain we are satisfied with the condition in which it has been returned .

5.11 You are responsible for loss or damage to the horsebox caused by negligence, misuse, or otherwise, whether or not such damage was caused by you

5.12 You must complete a return report with the owner to identify the state of repair of the horsebox and any damage prior to its return  , Any points as to you disagree must be clearly identified . In the absence of such identification you will be deemed to accept the content of the return report in its entirety
